Once again, there seems to be a spate of spouts complaining about the career fire service, and questioning the legitimacy of volunteer fire memberships. The spouts seem to come from people who have no idea about firefighting and what it involves, and they are resoundingly wrong. Safety should not be traded off to save taxes.
