Wildwood

My husband is a veteran, lives in Wildwood and sells ice cream on the beach during summer months. Now I read that he won't have the opportunity this summer because the city is putting the ice cream vending out for bid. I can understand the city's view on this decision, but they will be cheating the veterans again. As he was out on the beach last summer, he noticed a lot of underage drinking. All the city needs to do is place officers on the beach, arrest the violators and they would make more than enough money to make up for the ice cream licenses.

Moderator's Note: According to Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano, Jr., "We're looking to see what kind of revenue we can generate to offset taxes for the city. We're not trying to hurt veterans. Just because we put out a bid, doesn't mean we have to accept it, but as government officials, we have to investigate all possible revenue opportunities."
