Wildwood / Middlesex County - For the past few years, I have considered buying in Wildwood where a depressed real estate market is in the buyer's favor. After researching the taxes on these properties, I find that purchasing a house is not favorable. Wildwood is a summer resort to most people but the property taxes are just as much as my home in Middlesex County. I don't understand how that can be with only 2,000 people in the winter verses my town that has 22,000 people and a similar size public works headcount.
