I've done an analysis of what a pure consumption tax would do. The interesting thing is it would significantly reduce the cost of doing business. This means more jobs, higher wages and reduced costs for an end product. The bills that have been presented repeatedly in Congress would actually benefit the poor because necessities would not be taxed. Just think of the Billions spent each year just doing tax returns, never more. No more sleepless nights doing your returns. No more penalties because the tax code is unreadable. Local businesses matters!!!
