I'm seriously hesitating to assign my students anything to do with the political campaigns, given the increasingly foul-mouthed, gutter tone of certain candidates vying for the most important job in the world. How do I allow the students to repeat in class some of the x-rated, hateful rhetoric they hear, while trying to instill respectable values and behavior in their young minds?
