If educating our youth is a top priority, then those charged with this mission should be the best qualified, most experienced people we should find. Being energetic, and having a sports background should not be the top benchmarks to run a school, given the challenges of educating children in an urban setting, of various backgrounds and cultures. One solution for the school here is to bring in a state monitor with final say on hiring and budget decisions to help our overburdened taxpayers, many with no kids in school.
