I applaud the Herald’s attempts to keep county residents apprised of matters the Commissioners obviously want us kept in the dark about, including the situation with the DRBA and airport. Mr. Morey seems the good guy in this situation, concerned taxpayers will have to reimburse the DRBA $32 mil. But the Morey Organization property is not required to pay taxes on its piers, because they aren’t classified as permanent structures. If they were, homeowners taxes would be less.
