I am glad to finally see some positive posts about our police, fire departments and city workers. These departments are the backbone of any city. Obviously, the people who are complaining about the salaries of these employees never worked for the city. A first-year firefighter earns $25,000. Most would not put their life on the line for that salary. I don't see much space to cut any more employment in this city, so stop complaining and, instead, help make this city a great place to live.
