I am amazed by the mentality of some people regarding flooding. They claim the silt in back bays is responsible for flooding, as the water has nowhere to go at times of higher tides. Based on that belief, I would think that building jetties and dumping sand in the ocean to replenish beaches is also directly responsible and needs to be stopped immediately. Also building of ships. Seems their displacement may contribute as well.
