Wildwood Crest beach banning smoking on the beach? Why?

Wildwood Crest - Wildwood Crest beach banning smoking on the beach? Why? Yet you allow smoking areas outside restaurants. I understand smoking isn’t healthy for anyone but the Crest beach is a wide open area! And for those of us that smoke ,can’t we have some enjoyment on the beach as well as everyone else!? Plenty of room on the beach!!
