For some this may smack of patronage but in small communities like most of ours in CMC, I believe it is a good thing that those who live here, have gone to school here and know the neighbors who pay their salaries create community responses that enable protective and not just punitive responses to potentially inflammatory situations. In the latest case in Minnesota, ZERO hired officers lived in the community. When neighbors pay your salary, when neighbors see our LEO’s we win.
