Wildwood Crest - Senate Republicans blocked the Right to Contraception Act on Wednesday, a bill that would “establish nationwide rights for individuals to ‘obtain contraceptives and to voluntarily engage in contraception’ and protect health care providers who offer it.” All but two GOP senators opposed the legislation, claiming that “it was unnecessary because the use of birth control is already protected under Supreme Court precedent.” But access to abortion was also subject to such protections until Trump’s justices overturned Roe v. Wade
