Wildwood Crest - I worked in the law enforcement field for 28 years. I paid into my pension. I pay my health care and taxes. In 1989 I took the job for the benefits and pension and now people throw stones because I am collecting. Health care used to be included in the package now the officers and firefighters are paying portions of their care. Is there really any perks to being a public servant? And yet I'm told I made too much and had too much time off and benefits. Give me a break. Probably the same people collecting unemployment after working 21 weeks and living winters in Fla.

Public service is very much appreciated - Thank you for your service. Work in the public sector presents many unique challenges and opportunities. Concerns arise when government budgets are out of balance and when work in the government sector appears more profitable than comparable work in the private sector ... where the tax funds are generated.
