Wildwood Crest - EMS should be dispatched for accidents, working fires, rescue assignments, etc. However, there is no need for BLS to respond on an alarm system call. It's a waste of gas, and unnecessary removal of an available unit from the response area. There is absolutely no need to hold up an ambulance unit, because the rescue squad wants to increase call volume. Also, the fire department should be trained in basic first aid at least; so, if something happens on an alarm system call, then they can request an ambulance but care for a fallen brother/sister meanwhile.
