Under U.S. and international law, noncitizens arriving at the U.S. border have a right to apply for asylum and other forms of protection. However, the Trump administration has been involved in several actions and policies that have been described by some as illegally turning away asylum seekers and potentially violating these legal obligations. For some reason, I rarely see this mentioned in the "liberal media".
