Several recent network news accounts spotlight the need to start the school day no earlier than 9 a.m., citing studies showing children's biological clocks don't wake up until later. These studies show children do better at school with the later start times, and for older teens who drive themselves to school, there is safer driver awareness. Of course, opposition will always come from sport coaches.
