My family and I came to the Crest for the Fourth of July. We had a great time, but it was a bit of a let down that there were no fireworks from the pier. The official reason was that it might draw a crowd during the time of Covid. It could not have drawn much more of a crowd then were present during the entirety of the day on the Crest beach or in the nearby motels. This would have been a great time to play some patriotic music, set a great fireworks display and help people boost their spirits a bit in this difficult time. I’m sure some bean counters somewhere figured it was saving some money.
