Kudos to the leadership of Wildwood Police for their increasingly visible presence in the community and hopefully this translates to an island-wide effort by the four departments to deter crime and respond to fears by citizens for their safety. Much of this change is the excellent work of the new chief, and hopefully residents will accept the fact that public safety is expensive, but absolutely essential. It's the price we now must pay for the breakdown of traditional values in modern society.
