If you voted no to the medians because you were convinced that your taxes would increase with the $2.5 million cost of the project, why don't you think they will increase with the new cost without medians of $2 million? For $11 per family per year (cost of the medians) we will not have a safer Pacific Avenue with green space that would have added to the property values in our town. The phrase "if it's not broke, don't fix it" will not allow our island to become safer and more beautiful! If Steve Jobs took that approach, there would be no cell phones.
