It's just another scam to draw more monies from the town and does little to nothing to train officers better or improve the department. I've worked in the industry for years and have found that officer's responsible for completing the accreditation drag the process out to keep their cushy positions for as long as possible. Anyone can copy and paste policies, knowing and abiding by them is key.
