Even as Vladimir Putin was controlling Donald Trump in the White House, Russia also just happened to be setting up an aluminum plant in Mitch McConnell’s home state of Kentucky. While there was never any proof, observers have long suspected that Putin gifted the plant to McConnell’s state in order to keep McConnell loyal to Trump. Now that Trump is gone from office, and McConnell is no longer in control of the Senate, the Russian aluminum company is – surprise – suspending its investments in the Kentucky plant.
