The report analyzed the effect of USAID funding on adult and child mortality and predicted the impact of its dismantling. They found that the agency saved the lives of 92 million people during the 21-year study period, warning that the impending cuts could lead to “a staggering number of needless deaths. The ongoing funding cuts would result in more than 14 million additional deaths by 2030, including 4.5 million deaths among children younger than 5 years.
