With the City of Wildwood cancelling all the events this summer, we will soon see a sharp decline in property maintenance, foreclosures, a lot more boarding of property, and like the old days, a few more than average fires. Like it or not, tourism supports local businesses and those who own them. Not everyone can afford to go to Florida for the winter, the true locals stay here, work here, survive here. With the money drying up, it won't be long before economic times hurt the very people who are the backbone of our community.
