The Avalon anti-gun spouter asked, "Would it be better if the servicemen were still alive because the "bad guy" couldn't get his hands on guns?" The answer is "of course," but how can you accomplish this; by banning all guns? That presupposes that the criminals and crazies will comply with the law, just like the honest population. That is a fantasy. We ban all sorts of criminal activity; theft, rape, murder, etc., yet we seem to have no shortage of people willing to violate those laws. Banning guns would only disarm those among us who are willing to protect ourselves, while leaving evil armed.
