Why does the Herald continue to give Mayor Cabrera a free pass? Cabrera had a Republican Assemblyman speak at a 9/11 remembrance service. Let that sink in. A solemn day meant to remember the lives lost, honor the first responders, and bring people together was turned into an opportunity for a politician to take the microphone. There is a time and place for politics. A 9/11 memorial service is absolutely not one of them. Mayor Cabrera had a responsibility to protect the integrity of that ceremony. Instead, he allowed politics to creep into an event where politics had no business being.
