Why do I keep hearing that Upper Township EMS plans to take over coverage in Woodbine once the current contract expires? There has been little to no communication with Township residents about whether this is actually happening or what it would mean. Are we at risk of biting off more than we can chew by expanding coverage without a clear staffing and cost plan? Has anyone explained what it would cost to hire and staff enough EMTs to cover that area ourselves? I find it hard to believe those costs would be offset by whatever revenue the Township brings in from EMS billing.
