Why are so many people surprised at the flooding from the recent Nor'easter. Overbuilding on what was once a lot for a single cottage helped create the flooding disaster. No mystery here from a "lifelong Cape May local". We still own our pretty one-story rancher on Idaho Ave. that our grandparents built back in the early 60's. It also sits on 1 1/2 lots. Realtors/builders would love to get their hands on it....never going to happen. Again, the flooding is no mystery. Common sense building, here and all along the Jersey shore is long gone.
