why do I bother to take the time to separate trash from recycla

West Wildwood - why do I bother to take the time to separate trash from recyclables?
again this past Monday I watched as my recycle can was emptied into my trash can and then emptied into the trash truck.
there was no separate sections in the back of the truck.
all were put in together.
and
of course , as usual, cans were left in the streets blocking traffic.
I am disabled . so I have to wait for the person who puts my trash out to bring cans up on the pavement out of the street.
