West Wildwood - Sewer rates/bills in West Wildwood are so high because the money collected is largely used to pay salaries for workers not necessarily working for the sewer department. Yes, there is a cap spending freeze on salaries in the regular municipal budget but not in the sewer utility budget. So portions of most if not all employees other than police are taken from the sewer utility budget to keep the cap spending down in the regular budget. Don't believe me, ask the borough how much of the sewer budget is used for salaries. Sit down when they give you the amount!
