West Wildwood - In reply to the spout regarding waiting for an officer in police consolidation: The fact is that since the officers here patrol alone and when they have an arrest, they are unable to answer any calls. No matter how minor the arrest warrant might be, interview time, booking and transport to the county jail is, at minimum, two hours that our officer cannot answer a local call. Dispatch must 'request' that another town respond if there is a subsequent call for service. In consolidation, with many officers on duty, response would be immediate.
