West Wildwood - The mayor stated in the Herald that "if any officer is trained by a municipality, then moves to another agency, then the hiring agency must compensate the initial agency for training costs." What he says is not entirely true in the borough's case - read NJ PL 1987 amended in 2014. At least six to eight officers have left in the last two years; please produce a list of those officers and the dollars received for reimbursement. The statute also does not cover the cost the borough incurs when we have to have two officers on duty to train the new hire to local protocol.
