West Wildwood - I did the math and if the Borough of West Wildwood has a tax base assessment of $877,221,500 (according to the Cape May County Tax Assessor's office) and the mayor is proposing a 1.8-cent increase on every $100 of assessment then the borough is going to take in an additional $162,000 in the 2017 proposed budget. The math is simple. Mayor Fox said in a news article in this newspaper that the borough would only be collecting an additional $42,000. Either the mayor flunked math in elementary school or he is fibbing!
