Our police dept. does a good job. My concern as a taxpayer is at what cost? The dept. is a revolving door of officers. 60 percent of the officers have been here in the borough less than one year. A highly paid chief, four police cars to maintain and fuel, radios, etc., to pay for, plus the office maintenance and supplies. A line item for police in the budget does not explain how that money is being used. For less money, and the same service, we should at least examine the cost of contracting out the service.
