Our 2015 budget indicates the cost of the police department is almost $500,000. This is about 23 percent of the total budget. Then add the cost we pay Wildwood for dispatch, court and rescue. We have just hired another officer, which I assume would be in the 2016 budget/tax increase. For the administration to ignore a professional study for police consolidation is not good government. For residents to think police coverage would be diminished is absurd. We would actually have more complete services; i.e., detective and plain clothes patrols.
