A few years ago the Fire Depts Ladies Auxiliary hosted the Alternative Energey Discussion symposium at Alfred Hall. The use of biomass as a way to curb carbon emissions, and increase energy was discussed but it turns out bioenergy and biofuels are as bad as fossil fuels for the climate. West Wildwood could not be seen as being a negative example for causing harm to the environment and local communities. In short the panel decided to continue to meet the boroughs energy needs with fossil fuels with a slow change over to solar, wind turbines and wave machines as technology permitted.
