West Wildwood

All this talk about the founding of West Wildwood is interesting but it's sad that no one has mentioned the Battle of Grassy Sound in 1812 when the forces of the People of the Marsh (later West Wildwood) drove off the British forcing them back into Sunset Lake in the Crest. Marsh leader Sir Allen Alfred was quoted as shouting "Now my kids will all have jobs!" as his small row boat capsized in the canal almost drowning him. Thankfully he was saved by the Chief of Police and later moved in with her.
