A bond to borrow the $173,000 is necessary to do the work and the state will then reimburse that amount of money to pay off the bond, so the taxpayers here won't need to foot the repair. Now, the borough is trying to borrow $603,600; $430,600 more than the state will pay back. Say no to this bond and have the borough do it over for the $173,000 only!
