West Cape May - Correction to the Cold Spring spouter who “read” that the homeless people at the Freeholder meeting “demanded rooms & food.” I was present, and the homeless attending only asked that police Lobbies not be used as warming centers. One young woman indicated that she would rather “die” in her car than sit in a police station. Homeless people may be ticketed for having no place to go; so, they won’t rush to spend the night in a police building. They deserve dignity and a clean, warm place to sleep. Time to stop denying the need in our county.
