New Jersey

We have piled enough sand on New Jersey's coast to build a wall 10 feet thick and 300 feet high from Cape May to Sandy Hook at a cost of over $3 billion. And each new beach lasts less time. Beaches scheduled for replenishment every 6 years are gone in 2 or 3. This is NOT sustainable. At the least, the Army Corps should use better project methods employed successfully world-wide. Even tested by the Army Corps right here! But they profit more building beaches that erode rapidly and need to be replaced faster at greater cost. We deserve better. Visit the New Jersey Coastal Alliance for more.
