What kind of parents allow their kids to bring stolen bikes home

Villas - What kind of parents allow their kids to bring stolen bikes home, and not try to find out where the kid got it? Unless their kid has a job, I find it hard to believe that they can afford an expensive new bike. Same thing with phones and other expensive items.
