Villas - Once a year a special natural phenomenon occurs in our area. From May7 thru June7 four species of migratory birds land in an 8 block area on the Villas beaches. These birds rest and feed to fortify themselves for their continued flight northwards, including the Arctic Circle. All of these species are endangered, with one threatened for extinction. It is important for the birds to remain undisturbed. Therefore the beaches are closed from Rose Ave. to New Jersey Ave. Walking on the beaches and letting dogs and children run is harmful to these birds. Please obey the signs that are posted.
