Villas - NJ sent out reminders to contractors who had not renewed their license as of Dec. 9. In previous years, you never received a reminder. You knew that you had until Dec. 31. What an incredible waste of paper and postage! Never before have home improvement contractors gotten a shake-down letter (oops! I mean "reminder"). To add insult to injury, a few days after we received our first notice to renew our license, we got the paperwork for the "Annual Report," which our accountant told us only serves to tell the state that we are still in business! Total extortion? $125!
