I think "standardized testing" should be suspended for five year

Villas - I think "standardized testing" should be suspended for five years. Let the teachers get back to the basics and teach without the stress of "teaching to the test." Children are not standardized and the tests only enrich those who have created them and pushed them through the political channels, making them mandatory. Printing and cursive writing need to make a comeback, as well as grades for good penmanship. Computers are ubiquitous, yes, but computer literacy does not negate the need for being able to read and write well.
