I didn't know it was ok to bark orders at staff to help one get up and smoke a cigarette, fetch them a soda, or give them pain meds before it's due, but most patients who come through the subacute section treat the nurses and CNAs like personal servants. Now, the "customer service reps" give their numbers out to patients to text them when staff isn't doing what they are supposed to, or take pictures of food to "improve," all to improve patient satisfaction scores. Is this what healthcare is coming to?
