The second home owner/ voting issue is complex. The law states that you vote where you claim permanent residency. You pay 100% of taxes in the state that you live and another 100% taxes in the state where your second home is. Seems a big chunk of taxes goes to schools. Perhaps the answer is school tax is separated out for permanent residents in that state?
