Villas / Philadelphia - Grounding teens for a long period of time causes more harm than good. This is a lazy way of enforcing an old-fashioned way of discipline. It causes anger and teen runaways. They are not prisoners and if parents want a respectful teen then they need to have a good understanding of parenting skills. Teens have a lot of energy and imprisoning them is likely to cause problems in school as the parent has now unleashed a caged animal. Would the parent like to be treated with humiliation and disrespect? Parents should treat teens with the same respect that they treat their best friends and see the positive results.
