To the Avalon spouter who feels the NRA should commemorate the massacre last year at Sandy Hook elementary school, I offer you some food for thought. The National Rifle Assoc. was organized in 1871 to promote shooting sports by teaching marksmanship and safety through education. This is the organization that law enforcement agencies rely on for their training. The NRA has lobbied for legislation that keeps firearms out of the hands of criminals and unstable individuals. The insane shooter and his criminal mother who provided the weapons are responsible for this tragedy, not the NRA.
