Upper Township - Why do schools close down for the NJEA Convention? The vast majority of teachers I know are going on vacation this week, rather than attending the convention. The point of teachers having these days off is to attend the convention, and attend seminars and workshops to enrich their educational abilities, not to fly to Fla. to sit on a beach and drink margaritas.
