Upper Township - Everyone should support S2548 which would make beaches free in towns that accept N.J. and Federal beach replenishment funding. If our taxes are going to be wasted pumping sand on beaches to protect properties of the wealthy, the least these towns can do is let us use the beaches we paid for without having to buy a beach tag. S2548 would finally eliminate beach tags, something that is long overdue. Beach towns need to absorb beach cleaning and lifeguard costs themselves in exchange for the millions of tax dollars they get for beach replenishment.
