The UTSD weekly email just came out and for the 4th week in a row, they mention boosterthon. “The money raised goes right back to our schools to support our educational programs, and we can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity!” The PTO confirmed that Boosterthon is paid approximately 48% of what is raised. The goal was $45,000, but the school only gets $23,400. Why is that never mentioned publicly? Families deserve transparency and the wording feels intentionally misleading. If nearly half of donations don’t reach our kids, shouldn’t we be told?
